Happy Birthday to Me Posted on the 15th November 2008

Well as I reach another ripe old age I can confirm that all my facilities are still working, although maybe not as much as they used too. So thats the major worry out the way.

I had a quiet night in with Bird, and today I see my boys, and a beer or plenty tonight.

Thanks to everyone who sent messages, emails, and snail mail.

I don't know who sang the song, but they were lying. You're not, so I think some beers and good company will suffice for recompense.

Not much to say about today, apart from Happy Birthday to the boy of cheeseness.

I'm looking forward to my boys coming down tomorrow, and a nice night, and a relaxing day afterwards. Everyone have a nice weekend, and take care.

When it Rains it Pours Posted on the 4th November 2008

It was as I stood in the rain waiting for my cancelled train that I realised forgetting my umbrella wasn't the smartest move in the book of life. Probably on the same page of the book is the section marked check your shoes for holes, which I would of done if I have read it, but still, there is something wierdly warm about a squelchy foot. And so when I did eventually get into work, the sole reason for which was to meet with a colleague, I found out that he had cancelled at 9:01am meaning I could of worked from home, done an extra hour or twos work, and not be wet and miserable. Still things were bound to get better.

I churned out a load of documentation today, fixed the APN settings on my iPhone at last, rewired my games consoles, totally fixed the Lego Star Destroyer, and am on track to recover my 2TB of data, as well as getting all the machines up to as they were. And Mr Cheese, the disks were in a hardware raid array, and so weren't particularly willing to give up their MFT details so it wasn't an easy recovery process.

And to end the day I listened to the iPod on the way home, and to be more specific the tiertary phase of the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. Although it wasn't until I heard the last part of the 2nd episode that I realised my iPod was on shuffle, and I hadn't noticed. Blimey, am I brain dead, or did Douglas Adams write so scatily that no one would notice. Just a thought.

So, to do a bit of retro with the age I will not mention yet almost upon me, I thought I would reind everyone of the so called good old days by pointing you to Dreamlands BBS site. It will bring back the memories to the old computer geeks.
